Understanding the visitor map and traffic data

Use the visitor location map to see where your directory's audience is coming from.

·

The visitor map

The visitor map on your Overview page shows clustered dots representing where your visitors are located geographically (based on approximate IP-derived location). Zoom in to see clusters by city or suburb.

What it doesn't show

The map shows approximate location only — it's not precise to street level. Visitors on VPNs or mobile networks may appear in unexpected locations. It represents the past 30 days of visits by default.

The listings map

The Listings Map (below the visitor map) shows where your geocoded listings are located. Pins are shown for every listing that has a latitude/longitude set. Use this to spot geographic gaps in your coverage.

Using traffic data to make decisions

  • If most visitors are from a specific suburb, consider adding more listings there.
  • If the listings map has gaps, those areas may be underserved and worth reaching out to businesses in.
  • Compare the visitor map and listings map — if visitors are coming from a region where you have few listings, that's an opportunity.
