Connecting Google Analytics to your directory

Add your Google Analytics tracking ID to get deeper insights into visitor behaviour.

Why add Google Analytics?

Local Directory AI provides built-in visitor counts, but Google Analytics gives you much richer data: traffic sources (search, social, referral, direct), user behaviour flows, device breakdowns, and conversion tracking.

Setting up GA4

  1. Go to Google Analytics and create a new GA4 property for your directory domain.
  2. In the setup, choose Web as the platform and enter your directory's URL.
  3. Google will give you a Measurement ID — it looks like G-XXXXXXXXXX.

Adding the ID to your directory

  1. In your admin dashboard, go to Settings → Integrations (or Integrations in the sidebar).
  2. Find the Google Analytics section and enter your Measurement ID.
  3. Click Save. The tracking script is added to your site automatically.

Verifying it works

In Google Analytics, go to Reports → Realtime. Visit your directory in another tab — you should see 1 active user appear within a few seconds. If nothing appears after 5 minutes, double-check your Measurement ID in the settings.
