Connecting Stripe to accept listing payments
How to link your Stripe account so you can charge for listings and memberships.
Before you start
You'll need a Stripe account. If you don't have one, creating it takes about 5 minutes. You'll need to complete Stripe's identity verification before you can accept live payments.
Connecting Stripe
- In your Stripe dashboard, go to Developers → API keys and copy your Secret key.
- In Directory Admin, go to Settings → Integrations and open the Stripe card.
- Paste your Secret key. Optionally add a Webhook secret: create a webhook endpoint in Stripe using the webhook URL shown on that screen, then paste the signing secret it gives you.
- Click Connect Stripe. The card confirms once your key is saved.
- Then go to Website → Plans to link each paid tier to a Stripe price.
There is no "Log in with Stripe" button; the connection is made by pasting your API key as described above.
Test mode vs live mode
Until you complete Stripe's identity verification, your account is in test mode. In test mode, use Stripe's test card numbers (e.g. 4242 4242 4242 4242) to test payments without real money. Switch to live mode once Stripe approves your account.
Disconnecting Stripe
You can disconnect Stripe from the same card in Settings → Integrations. Disconnecting stops new payments but does not cancel any existing active subscriptions — those continue billing through Stripe until cancelled.
